Once again, I wasn't going to make a journal for this exam right away, but I am finding myself having a very hard time getting much work in after I took my Step 2 CS on June 13, 2015. I would like to think overall CS went well and I can continue my journey towards applying for match this year.

Step 1 Exam Taken December 18, 2014; Passed 244.
Step 2 CK Exam Taken May 3, 2015; Passed 249.
Step 2 CS Exam Taken June 13, 2015; Passed.
Step 3 Exam; Will take soon after graduation early next year.

The purpose of this journal is self motivation and to document the work I do every day, so I can be more productive throughout my days.

PLAN FOR NOW:
1.) Read IM Section of MTB 3 first time through in 14 days. Roughly comes out to 20 pages a day.
2.) Read The ICU Book by Dr. Marino first time through in 10 days, 50 pages a day.
3.) Look up information on residency programs on FREIDA, 10 residency programs a day.
4.) Work on 3rd draft of personal statement.

RESIDENCY TIMELINE:
June: Look up Residency Programs

July: Submit LORs, Medical School Evaluation, Medical School transcript, ERAS token.

August: ERAS application, Application Profile, Personal Statement, Track supporting documents, FINALIZE application, application profile, personal statement, LOR authors in AAMCs MY ERAS.

September: NRMP registration. Deadline MSPE on September 15th, 2015.

October: Release of MSPEs.

If there is anything that I missed on the residency timeline?
Any help regarding that would be greatly appreciated.

Will update later.

EDIT1:

- Finished reading 20 pgs MTB 3.
On page 33/277.

- Looked into 12 programs for Residency. Will give these all a call in this upcoming week.

I have a feeling that things will be good and that everything will work out.

Will update later.

UPDATED 8/12/15: PASSED Step 2 CS!

Considering this thread was started last June, you've been studying for step 3 for about a year now? Am I missing something? Isn't this excessive?

My graduation date was June 10, 2016.
You can't take Step 3 without a Diploma, and I just recently started UW and core Step 3 studying a few months ago.

Waiting on Diploma in the mail and will take Step 3 right after.
This was just meant to be a journal of my daily thoughts and work to keep me productive until then.

The end goal of all of my journals in the past and this journal is to complete the USMLE exams well, and for my posts to serve as a helpful example to fellow members on SDN.

Congrats...I remember following you last year....

Quick question since nobody has responded to my post have you used the new MTB step 3? I know you read through the old one

Thew new edition came out 2017. From a brief amazon preview - the first few pages of the cardiovascular section are exactly the same

Thoughts?

Again congrats!

Congrats!

So I read all your posts and am slightly frustrated that I don't know how it ended up. Did you get the score you were hoping for? I'm prepping for Step 3 myself and am curious to know. Thanks for sharing your journey.

I am sorry that I have frustrated you, it was not my intention.
I should have updated this thread and mentioned that I have not taken Step 3 yet.
When I was studying I did not have my diploma so I couldn't even actually sit for it until much afterwards.

I went on a mission trip to Guatemala, and was focusing on my research to make my residency application stronger. I plan on taking Step 3 sometime during my first year of residency, and will keep everyone posted.
