i've always found it interesting when ppl. list a # over another #. how is everyone so sure how many ppl. applied to a particular specialty (the denominator)?

Here's how many got in from UOP this year per program. . . I have no clue how many students total applied (just to give you an idea). I'm posting this because I wish this was posted before I applied:

(by the way, we have 139 students in our program)

Ortho = 9
OMFS = 2
Pedo = 7
Endo = 4
Perio = 2
Prosth = 1
GPR/AEGD = 24

Enjoy

No official rank, but there is an internal rank where the top 10-12 are recognized in the dean's letter and the rest are broken down into thirds. The letter however does not state exact rank since we also do not have grades.

We are given numbers by the student affairs dean since he is the one writing the letters to the post-grad programs. Also on match day, ALL applicants to the particular program (ortho,oms,peds,etc) for the past couple of years is also given to the institution. So even if you applied to the program after graduation, you are on the radar.
