Hi All,

New attending here that is planning on covering weekends at an inpatient facility. What would be your asking pay rate per f/u and new pt evaluation? They offered me a low rate which I refused and wondering what would be a good rate to ask for per pt (f/u and new evals).

Thank you!

There is the normal rate, and depending on the medicaid and medicare, those will tweak their blended payer mix rate per follow up.
If working a weekend, those are harder to get coverage, and should get a slightly more than just straight weekly work.
~5 to 6 years ago I was seeing $90 and ~180

Bulk of the money will be made in f/u, so you want to push the hardest on that number. New Evals are a huge pain and will be a money loser for you based on time regardless of what they pay you, you do them simply so you can see the easy f/us.

Check the CPT codes via Fair Health for your area to see what the hospital may be getting.
