I was wondering if it is worth it to buy the instruments required in med school during your first year. I have heard that you don't even use them until well into your second year.

Wait till later on. You'll have a better idea of what you need.

And, your class will likely have a big group buy on the required instruments. So best to get them then.

Dont waste your money. We only needed them once, during our physical assestment test. And then you can borrow from someone else who just has to have them.

Personally, I saved the $300 bucks, and pampered myself through exams

You will need a stethoscope, but I think that is about it. When you get to 3rd year there will be lots of stuff to put in your pocket, but for now, dont worry about it.
