first there were spine surgeons and opioid restriction. . too many people in wheelchairs, so we invented interventional spine specialists. cost too much $$ so we invented pain specialists. not enough of them so we had the family docs take over the prescribing. too many addicts and opioid OD's so back to severe opioid restriction and spine surgeons. and so the wheel turns...
