OK. I am aware that income of physicians is not close to what it used to be but check this out:
My insurance was billed $3,900 last month from an Orthopedic Surgeon for some epideral injections and procedures. I have a respectable PPO. Guess what the insurance allowed (paid)?
$80.61
Dude, I was first examined by an RN, then the Anestesiologist administered anesthesia, then the surgeon did the procedure.
How does $80.61 cover this? This worries me a lot. I mean, granted we won't make as much as Docs before, but that's a little discouraging.
