Description
The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university-s missions and goals of teaching, research, outreach and public service. The Research Assistant II is located in Portland on the OHSU campus and is responsible for assisting with various aspects of NW PRECEDENT research projects. Some research projects will require occasional travel throughout the 5 states. The duties of this position include: Prepare written reports. Prepare and submit IRB applications and amendments, final reports, and other required documentation.Assist with the development of grant proposals, grant budgets and project work plans. Perform literature searches, review articles, and provide summaries that will be used to write the background and methods section of proposals. Help to compile research grants and prepare them for review by the Protocol Review Committee. Monitor study materials, supplies, printing, postage, and equipment. Populate and maintain study and network databases. Help ensure quality of information in databases by clarifying and verifying information with practitioner members, and routinely reviewing contents in order to help identify appropriate practices and populations for given studies. Prepare travel authorizations and disbursement requests. Assist with data reporting during research studies. Develop intimate knowledge of research study designs and help practitioners provide accurate and timely data for studies by answering inquiries from study participants. Problem-solve for studies and network activities; coordinate, communicate, and act on solutions. Consistently track projects and report status and key issues to NW PRECEDENT Principal Investigator and other relevant NW PRECEDENT staff.Maintain current knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ethical issues in research and work with NW PRECEDENT staff to ensure that research at the sites is conducted ethically and within OHSU-s guidelines. Work closely and cooperatively with the NW PRECEDENT research team (Investigators, Administrator, Network Managers, Regional Research Coordinators, and other staff.) Interact with network members, provide support and respond to inquiries. Foster good will among NW PRECEDENT members, staff and investigators.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications: Bachelor-s degree with relevant courses in research. Analytical/problem solving skills; Superior ability to work independently and within a project team; Survey layout and design skills; Database/web experience; Advanced knowledge of common computer applications used in research (e.g. Excel, Access, MSWord, databases); Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving history.

Schedule and Salary Range
Part-time; 0.5 FTE: Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE): $25,600-51,500/year; Location: Marquam Hill
