I've had lots of experience shadowing residents at Wash U medical center ER and they said the same thing. "On your first day of residency you know nothing. You may be able to name every muscle in the body, but you don't really know how to treat anyone." said one. He then told us a pretty scary story where he almost killed someone by overprescribing a drug to treat hypertension. Isn't that a scarry thought?

We'll all be okay. It will just take more than 4 years to learn everything we need to know!
