So, most people on here know my story: interviewed, waitlisted, still waiting. Sent an LOI, still waiting - patiently, of course lol. 😳

Well, for sh*ts and giggles I decided to call to make sure i was still on the waitlist (which of course I knew I was). She said "Yes."

Okay... fine.

BUT I asked, out of the blue, if the timing of my interview made any difference in my admissions (I interviewed on 9-29-05, in case anyone didn't know (again, doubtful 😛 )... And do you know what she said? She said, "Yes, you will be one of the first people called up. Alot of people are calling and dropping their spots." I asked again for reassurance and she told me that is how it works. Could this mean what I think it means? :scared:

I have my 4th anatomy exam today so I can't wait until it is over so I can go out!!! Even if it is false hope, I am going to enjoy it for one night!!! 😀

I hope everything works in your favor. Definantly try to relax a little bit.

Crossing my fingers for you! Good luck! 🙂

Good luck I am pulling for you.

Good luck...I have been seeing you posting on here for months about LECOM, and I am definately pulling for you. I feel about PCOM the way you feel about LECOM, so I know how it feels. Let us know how it works out!! 🙂

I hope you get some good news soon! :luck: :luck: :luck:

Go Jezz, if this doesn't work, we can always find people who got in and umm elminate them... :meanie: DrTrek, watch out....MUAHAHAH

Thanks! Do you guys think this is true though? They said their waitlists weren't ranked. 😕

I heard a story about a guy who was #2 on the waitlist. He decided to take a day off of work and sit in the admissions office with a check for the deposit. He figured if nothing happens then he just lost a vacation day.

After lunch, admissions received a phone call from a student who decided to drop his spot. Admissions was about to call the first person on the waitlist but since this guy was sitting in the office, they decided to give him the spot.

Anything can happen. Good luck.

This IS a true story. The person that told it to me is a member of the admissions comittee at an Allopathic School.

I've been reading your posts for awhile, and I know how bad you want it. Best of Luck!!! Hope you get a positive phone call soon!!

i've been watching these threads left and right and i've been in the same boat as you jezzelin. i interviewed back in dec. i just called and i know that people are calling in to drop their acceptances left and right. but noone divulged any more info. still won't be happy til i get that call, which is what they said it will probably be since it's getting closer to that time.

What were your stats? I'm still waiting to hear from them.

Grades: 3.3 overall, 3.2 science

One semester killed me, or I would be up around over 3.6 now. Oh well. MCAT not good at all twice. I never liked posting my scores because I didn't want to get flamed for how I am not "smart" enough to be a doctor, but everyone in this forum (DO one lol) is sooo supportive! 😍 😍 So, ... 19O and 18R.

This school though seems more to look at ECs than many schools. I didn't do any research, just because I was not interested in it. I may try to do some though in medical school (provided I get in) though. I had very positive LORs and am sending more as we speak along with my second LOI and transcripts. This LOI is more of an "update" really. And this semester I am looking to 4.0, only 4 weeks left so I am optimistic that it will be close to that.

Anyway, that's my stats! 👍

i'm also crossing my fingers for you! it seems to me that she wouldn't be saying that you had an excellent chance for admission if it weren't true. :luck:

Well the waiting is one of the worst parts of the whole application period. I wish you all the best and hope you clear the list really soon.

:luck: :luck: :luck: :luck:

Keep us updated, Jezz! I'm pullin' for ya! We will have to grab a beer in Erie before school starts! 😉 😀

Thanks everyone! Yeah Dorkus Maximus - first beer is on me! 👍 I really do hope I get the chance to meet you all this fall. 🙂

another generic good luck comment here too

Good luck to you, and hang in there!! 👍

Thanks again! Does anyone know if people get pulled off waitlist before May 15th? Just curious.

If they don't I am sure I can wait another month! 😛

Probably not till they have the last deposits in. Jezz, I think what the lady said to you on the phone is extremely positive. Keep your head up.

I always thought they do have some sort of ranking for waitlisters and this confirms it. If that's the case you have nothing to worry about. You interviewed extremely early and with me 🙂 so that has to be a good thing. Anyway, just relax and make sure you get that 4.0 at the end of this semester. As soon as your grades come out have the registrar send that transcript out overnight. A million good luck :luck: to you on gaining your acceptance to LECOM-PA.

GOOD LUCK! and I hope to see you there, when Class of 2010 begins.
