Been discussed here before. Giving NMB is associated with increased respiratory complications and postop reintubation. Reversal doesn't eliminate the risk compared to giving no NMB/reversal. This is also the reason its advocated you always reverse.

There was an interesting article couple months back that showed anethesiologists who use ulnar nerve for TOF instead of facial nerve monitoring give far less NMB and have fewer postop respiratory complications. I think it was in A&A.
 
Eikermann presented this at our grand rounds a few months ago. important to recognize that too much reversal may/will worsen neuromuscular function. its very commonly overdosed, it seems.
