So I'm trying to get my PTAL, "California letter", from the California State Medical Board presently, and I received a call from an agent at their office the other day. Coincidentally my last name is the same as my med. school principal's last name (both are very common names in India). She asks me to provide a letter from my Principal, stating that he is in no way related me to.
I was taken a little aback by this..... sensing I thought it was ridicilous she then "threatens" me if I dont give her the letter soon i'll just have to get all my documents resigned.

has this situation ever happened to anyone else?? its not that big of deal, but just quite odd in my opinion... never heard of this rule.

Why would you get defensive? This is a valid, albeit annoying, check on your file.
