To take out a loan as an international student in the US? If you can't secure any other loans (such as government) then yes, highly suggested.

If you mean study in a non-US school and you're a US citizen then no. The big 4 have access for federal loans so if you aren't going to the big 4, it isn't worth it. If you're a non-US citizen going to a non-US school and want to practice in the US, you're going to have a difficult time when it comes to matching as the number of residencies willing to sponsor you for a visa is going down significantly as more US schools open up. I would try getting into any US school that will accept you.

Darkel kindly enlighten me
i am from africa and want to do MD at a caribean school since its faster. how can i secure a low intrest loan
My country kenya there are no student loans for medical students.

I also plan to practice in kenya(home) and also do my rotations in kenya

Probably very hard to get a loan.

Head over to the International forum since not many here would know. It will probably be difficult to secure loans and the best way to do so would be by banks in your home country. Since you want to return to Kenya and practice there, I don't know how their medical education is set up.
