international acceptance of D.O.'s?

Does anyone know if the AOA or any other organization is working on getting the D.O. degree accepted internationally as equivalent to the M.D. to allow D.O school graduates to volunteer overseas, join the peace corps,act as team doc on mt. everest, etc ?

I think the AOA is more concerned with ads in "O" magazine and "Good Houskeeping" to be productive.
