International applicants to US med school

I've heard that only a handful of US med schools accept international applicants,can anyone
provide a list of all those med schools that do give consideration to foreign nationals.
Also,do these universities have a certain number of seats for international students,or is it
purely merit based?
Any ways in which a foreign applicant can increase his chances of admission to a US medschool?
would really appreciate some insight on this.
