hi everyone,

I am a medical student who is interested in a career in international family medicine. what would be necessary for one to begin that type of career?

Check out this link from AMSA ... it should get you started. enjoy.

Other things: try to arrange a clerkship overseas. Read Read Read about the issues in places you want to serve - not just the medical problems, but the political situations, economics, and culture.

the specialty is very adaptive and you can pretty much work anywhere, but if you have somewhere particluar in mind, then most residencies have options to do international rotations one , or two months and then make your connections and get the licensing paperwork involved and paprework for working internationally and then do it, its very possible
