Hi to all international students on SDN. What are some GPAs, MCAT scores that successful international applicants have? I am most interested if any international students with low than average GPAs or MCAT scores got accepted into Med school in US. Please, post your stats, name of the school you got accepted to, and the country of origin. What do you think determined your acceptance?
    Thanks!

    Hi RNA ladder,

I will be applying to med school for the fall of 2003, so I am taking the MCAT tomorrow <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" />

I graduated with a GPA of 3.7, so I hope this part of my application is OK.

Does anyone know if the MCAT score is viewed differently by the admissions committee if the student has english as a second language? A student at my school from eastern europe was accepted to NYU with less than average verbal scores. :D

    Hi RNA Ladder,

I'm an international student. and I got into medschool. I think, a foreign student must have pretty convincing stats (or something else that makes them unique -- in most cases being from another country is enough).. but for the record,

    GPA : 3.9
    MCAT : 35T

(I was an MD/PhD applicant, though)

I am sure there are people with lower GPA who have gotten in.

    Which country are you from?
