Internship LOR

I am preparing to apply for internship and am trying to reach former supervisors for LORs. At the time I ended placements with them, they specifically said I could contact them for LORs for internship. I have contacted several and have gotten no response. I reached out a second time, and... crickets. Obviously, application deadlines begin next month, so I am wondering how often to try to contact them, how many attempts to make, by what means, etc. to try to get a response but also not frustrate them?

Follow up. Maybe it got buried in their emails. Maybe they saw it and meant to respond but forgot. Call them on the phone, if you haven't.

In the meantime, if you have others who could potentially be LOR writers, contact them too.
