Hey everyone,
In about a month I will be going to my first interview (I'm applying early) and I fear that I will not be able to perform my best in front of the ad coms. This is primarily due to a bad interview experience that I had early on for college where I can't seem to shake off. All the interviews that I had after that left me with heart palpitations, sweaty palms, frog in throat, teary eyes, etc.... What can I do to overcome this fear??? Am I hopeless?? Please share your interview experiences if you can. Thanks!

You actually have a lot of options. You can:
1. practice interviewing with someone, perhaps an advisor, who can help desensitize you to the interviewing process and help you come up with good answers to questions
2. talk with a therapist (social worker, psychologist), who can help you with your interviewing skills as well as decrease your anxiety
3. talk with a psychiatrist who can start you on anti-anxiety meds (these take several weeks to start working)
Since you are already so worried about this and it is only June, I think that you would benefit from a combination of all three of these things. Good luck!
