Everyone is always so helpful with giving insight and advice...
I was wondering if anyone could give me advice or input regarding their interviews at George Washington U or SUNY Downstate.

I'm not sure if I'm heading for an individual interview or group interview (these are my first invites!! 😀 )..all I know is that the GWU letter indicated the interview would be an all-day affair whereas the Downstate process would be over by early afternoon.

Thanks so very much! 🙂

Hey KidDoc,

If you go to www.interviewfeedback.com you can read about people's interview experiences at different schools.

For GW, this is what I remember... you get there, you eat lunch while talking to the admissions guy, the financial aid lady gives a presentation, you have two interviews and then a tour.

The two interviews are done by either students or physicians (in my case, anyway) and were about half an hour long each. They were individual interviews where the interviewer knew nothing about my file.

I don't know if this helped at all, but if you have specific questions about the GW interview, I will try to help!

GWU has 2 interviews. One with a student and one with a faculty member. Both interviews are blind (they dont know anything about you except for your name). Very very conversational. The day is very short compared to other places. You are in and out within 3 hours.

I've interviewed with Downstate. The interview is very relaxed, the focus is basicly to have a conversation with you. From what I heard and seen, all the interviewers are super nice, so just relax. Btw, you are only interviewed by one adcom. In terms of the day schedule, I had a morning interview, after which I met with director of the admissions office ( she just took down some basic info-your major, date of graduation, etc.) Then we had a tour, which included a visit to the gross lab, during class (super cool!), and then lunch.

Congrats on your invites and good luck!
