Can anyone explain this whole interview/rejection process? Do they send out all rejection letters then start interviewing applicants or vice versa? or do they review applications in cycles and send out both invites for interview and rejection during each cycle?

i would like to know what is the story for people who hasn't heard anything from some of the schools at this time of the year.
i hope no news=good news but its' almost feb.

thanks

The answer is different strokes for different folks. Each medical school has its own way of doing things. However, most if not all will use resources first on screening, interviewing and decision making and later with the bother of sending rejection letters. A waiting game, it is not because they are mean spirited but because there are such large numbers of applicants (many unrealistic), the work load enormous, time consuming, the cost of the operation high in office worker's salaries and faculty time. It is slow going.

The often high application fees charged by the medical schools have a dual purpose: to recover some of the financial costs and to cut down the workload by discouraging unrealistic applicants.
