Interview timing

Just received my first II, want to ask about the timing of the interview:

should I pick the earliest interview date available? or if I pick a mid October interview date, is it too late.

Earlier is generally better, due to rolling. But, since this is last stage before acceptance, you aren't killing your chances by pushing it back. As long as it's before the new year, my understanding is you still have decent odds. After new year they mostly want to fill wait list positions. But, like I said, earlier is always better.
