Interviewfeedback.com has been down for a few days, and I have an interview at Jefferson coming up. Does anyone has anything they want to share about their interview? Anything about the structure/what to expect?

Thanks for the help.

hello,

jefferson only interviews on wednesdays, so there tends to be quite a few people at the interview, something like 20-30, but it is later in the interview process, so there may be less.

there is one faculty/staff interview and a student interview. there is an info session and a brunch and a tour.

i personally wasn't asked anything too hard, just the basics, why medicine? why jefferson?

do realize that they have tradition there and they are proud of it, definitely creates an interesting atmosphere.

best of luck.

Like judub said the order of events for interview day is (for me anyways): info session, interview w/ student interviewer (20 min), short lunch while pple are talking to you, tour, interview w/ faculty interviewer (30 min).

Student interview is for them to see if you would fit in w/ their student body. Pretty much everybody on my interview day thought their interviews went well. The interview style for faculty is laid-back, pretty conversational. No difficult questions, just the generals (e.g tell me about yourself, why Jefferson).

bump please help the OP out if you have't posted about Jeff yet and have interviewed

Interesting/Difficult Qs?

I was asked about the research I did... it was in the same area as the interviewer's research interest. I was asked one or two questions about health care, managed care, etc. Overall the style is pretty laid back and conversational as was mentioned before. The tours and presentations by the students were quite nice so be sure and enjoy the day. I left Jefferson very impressed with the school and the surrounding area.

I agree with everyone, very laid back. The only thing I would add is that they feed you right when you get there, so don't eat a big breakfast!

Good luck and have fun.

Hi Everyone,

Thanks so much for posting for me while I was in a pinch! As promised, it was not a difficult day. They try to tell you a lot of information in a short period of time, so get ready for a packed schedule. There is one short student interview and one faculty/admissions interview. My questions were of the "get to know you" variety. They interview a huge group of prospective students all at once. One thing that seemed especially kind was that they said they would send decisions withing 3-4 weeks!!! Wow.
Great school, clinical focus. Good luck to anyone interviewing there in the future.
