Hi All,
I wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this but I interviewed for SGU over 2 months ago and still no word. I graduated from UCLA and have an average GPA but low MCAT score (25) with extremely high writing score (T). I have had numberous and excellent volunteer and work experiences. 3 Publications in major scientific journals (Clin Can Res, J Immunol, and Can Res). My interviewer really liked me and we interviewed for almost 2.5 hours and he even told me that my 15 essay was really good (he even said it was the first time that he read one with absolutely zero grammatical errors). I've had 2 cousins graduate from the school and were close to the Dean. HOwever, still no word. What do you guys think it could mean? I'm banking on SGU as my shot to becoming a physician and I called the school and talked to the administrator in charge of my file who said that the committe is still deliberating and that even though it's been a long time, it doesn't mean that I won't be accepted. I'm just so nervous and can't shake off this feeling of being rejected. If anyone has input as to if this is normal for SGU, please let me know. Do you guys think I should send a letter of interest to SGU even though a decision hasn't been made. Waiting sucks big time and knowing that decisions about your life career rests on someone else and that it's a constant hoop and jump thing is so frustrating. So please fellow apps, help a losing-faith app.

I interviewed also around two months ago and I happened to recieve my acceptance on 5/10. So hold on, yours might be in the mail. I called the admissions office on Thursday and they said the committee is still pending their decision, and all of a sudden I recieve the letter on Sat. Don't listen to the office they seem to be really late on their info.

Thanks so much for replying. I was losing faith on it and it's good to hear that I could be receiving word despite what the admissions office says. Thanks.

As a matter of fact I interviewed on February18th, in New York. Hang in there I am sure you will be hearing some good news soon.

It took me 4 full months to hear back from them before I was accepted. I'm not sure how often their committee meets, they may not all be on the island together so it could be a confy call type arrangement. Good luck. I said no to my spot - and let them know with a letter and phone call - so hopefully you'll get mine!
