Interviews already booked to Feb!!!

I am excited to have New York Medical College to offer me an interview. The only problem is...it's in February! I can't believe its only October and the some interviews are already booked that late! Is this even normal?

NYMC interviews crap loads of ppl...like greater than 1000 and most ppl have been complete there for a while, so it makes sense.

not sure, I was complete at Creighton in September, & they'd sent out the November interview invites (for the month) already, December was the soonest possible interview date but I've not heard from them for a month so presumably I'm looking at January.. (I'm a reapp & have a good shot at this school per my conversation with them). Looks like things are getting earlier & earlier for schools.

Only one that kind of bugged me regarding timing was MCW - (wisconsin). According to the school, they rank students based on 1) strength of app and 2) timing of submission. So a well qualified applicant would be booted in favor of someone who applied in June rather than August..

It's prime interview season... but if you get a better acceptance elsewhere, you can withdraw.

Don't freak out - I got an interview invite earlier this week and booked it for Oct. 30. All schools are different.

VCU is another one of those schools... The earliest I could book was 2/9/09.

For what it's worth, there are also at least three weeks in there where they do very few if any interviews (T-giving, Xmas, New Years), so the interview isn't quite as late as it seems. I'm not at NYMC, but in the 06-07 cycle I interviewed end of March and got in straight up, no waitlist. Probably depends on how the school decides to hand out acceptances, but any interview is a good interview.
