Has anyone taken the Intro to Clinical Diagnosis shelf and can give advice on what review texts to use to prepare this shelf?

helpful is an understatement.

That book is like a cheat sheet for the shelf test.

check out the test content on the NBME website. That should give you some idea what's on the test.

Personally, I found Pretest to be significantly off target.
