I'm studying in india too.
Here's the info u wanted.
1) in india the course is 5 and half years long including 1 year internship.
2)To join u need to be a high school graduate with a minimum of 60% ( i think) in 12th grade board exams. Then there are competitive exams ..some of them are all india and others are specific to particular schools..
On the basis of your rank in these exams u get a seat.
3) After completion u get an MB BS degree which is equivalent to the US >MD.
Then ppl generally go for a postgraduate specialization.
