Invitations-not in Order of Apps Completed?

I thought schools select applications for review in the order they were completed. But according to the Invitation thread, some people have been invited only several days after their applications were completed, while others who completed much earlier received invitations much later. So whats the deal? Do they review applications for interviews in the order they were received or do they selectively choose applications for review based on high grades etc? 😕 😀

Agreed. They tend to pick the applicants they "like" the most first (in-staters, etc). But just because you haven't been chosen for an interview doesn't mean you're not going to.
