Hey guys! I had a question and I thought maybe those of you that are currently attending the med schools in ireland could answer it for me. From reading the posts on this website it seems to me that all the 3 schools in Dublin are relatively close in location to each other. Is it easy to meet the students at the other schools? Also, how big are the class sizes? Thanks!

They are pretty close to one another. RCSI is like a 5 min. walk from Trinity. UCD is further away, being about a 20 minute busride to Belfield. You generally tend not to meet many people from other schools, unless there's a specific event on. For instance, I volunteered for the Special Olympics last week, and through that, met several UCD med students. I don't know that many people at RCSI but have met a few...one of them and SDNer, and then some of her friends. But we don't really have functions together or anything.

Class sizes in UCC (Cork) are around 90-100 students. As said before, you don't meet other med students from other colleges. (although UCC being the only med school for hundreds of miles, that's fairly obvious)

Hey Kaptain Krunch,
I'm going to be attending UCC this fall...is there anything you can tell me about the school/Cork area? (i.e. classes, professors, student life, grads who landed good residencies in Canada or the States...) Thanks in advance!

The class size at Trinity is about 120 people. 60 Irish, 60 International (of those international, about 15 will be north american, but some were direct entrants while others started as SF). However, I think they sort of overbooked last year, so they may be decreasing numbers and quelling class sizes. UCD I think has a larger class size.
