IRONY:i am too indebted to the fed govt to join the military

i am keenly interested in joining the military,but by the time i am done with dental school i will be owing the feds like 200g most of it at 8.5% at this rate i dont think it makes any economic sense to sign up,this really sucks cos i do really love the military

I don't understand...There are repayment programs (I know for med, I assume for dental). If you REALLY want to join the military, they will pay back a certain $$ per year. (Note--this may be going up in the near future to around 60K/yr I think, read the stipend thread)

There is the Health Professions Loan Repayment Program (will pay back ~ 90K after taxes under current funding levels) and there is language in the new authorization act for accession bonuses for dentists. (we will have to wait and see on that)
