I'm writing the Canadian DAT this Saturday and just wondering if there are any other people on this forum that are writing it as well and how they are feeling for it.

I'm writing it... I'm feeling good about every section except for RC. Carving and PAT are now trivial for me and I've got the sciences down pretty good. The RC is a real challenge though, mainly because of the 50 minute time limit... I don't understand why it's 10 minutes less than the American DAT. The fact that it's the last section doesn't help either as ppl are mentally drained by then.

Anyhow, good luck to everyone taking it.

i am currently first year at uoft and plan to do dental after 3 years undergrad, should i do the dat this coming spring 2009? or next November? can i do both?

Yup Im writing the Canadian DAT too!!! I was wondering since it is not on a computer, is the reading comprehension set in a way that we can see the questions and the passage simultaneously? I mean if it is in a booklet we would have to keep flipping back and forth.

If anyone can clarify this for me I would appreciate it.

thanks

write it after taking chem 138, chm139 ,chem 220 and chm 247. Take PSL 302 in second year as well as BCH210. Its gonna be really hard to get in after 3 years, they admit like 4-5 students so don't plan on it. Also if you wanna maximize your GPA do not go into a specialist program.

does anyone know if the Canadian and American DAT are similar in their level of difficulty?

I am writing the DAT on Saturday for the second time. We get 10 minutes less then the Americans for RC because a person can read much faster on paper then off a computer screen... You cant look at the questions and passage simultaneously. The American and Canadian Dats are fairly similar I think...they send out the same practise test for the corresponding sections. Where are you guys writing the test? I am writing it in Saskatoon.

Hey MarcusNasland, are you a Canucks fan living in Saskatoon?...

I'm writing this Saturday too. Starting to get a bit nervous...

haha no... my name is just Marcus... don't worry about, shouldnt be too many surprises except maybe in bio... also don't drink coffee or energy drink before you carve as your hands may start to shake.

btw what do you guys think of the IQ science book?

i've been using this book for bio and chem but I'm a bit worried these questions are way too simple and unrepresentative of the actual dat

any opinions?
