i have thought that cell wall is single membrane but then in crack the dat bio question, it was implied that cell wall is double membrane..

help?

The cell wall is not a membrane but an assemblage of carbohydrate polymers, as in cellulose in plants, chitin in fungi, peptidoglycan in bacteria, and pseudomurein in archaea.

I think what they might be referring to is two cell walls beside each other, not that the cell wall is a membrane.
