is color deficiency a problem for military surgical residency?

I'm red/green color deficient. As a prior-enlisted soldier in the Army, I was not allowed to be a medic/lab tech and pretty much all 68 series except very few mos. Then I became a behavioral health tech and served 5 yrs in the Army. Now I'd like to go back to the military and become a military physician. (will apply next year, most likely will get in based on my stats).

I'm wondering if the similar restrictions apply to medical corps officers. If you are color blind, you are off to many specialties, especially surgery. I know civilian residency is more lenient as I searched online and asked a few people. I am also super familiar with a thing called "waiver" in the military. Then the question is how hard it is to get wavier. Thanks for reading!

AR 40-501 (4-5 Vision) states you cannot:
Fly (wouldn't anyway unless MDs get super hooah in the future, haha)
Make air traffic control decisions (once again, irrelevant)
Judge buoy colors (not a lot of those in MilMed)
Join Airborne or Special Forces units (but you CAN get an Airborne tab) if completely red/green blind
