Is EMS Instructor letter considered science or non-science?

That's what I would think, I called an admissions office at one of the schools I am applying to and they consider it science... So that sucks.

BCPM is Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Math.
AAMC classifies certain course work into one of these 4 categories. These Courses make up your sGPA, or BCPM GPA, and are taught by science faculty.


EMT training is classified as "health" and abbreviated "HEAL" on your AAMC application. Same goes for courses in nursing and allied health professions.
HEAL and everything else that is not BCPM is called "AO" (All Other) on the AAMC application.
 
By AAMC's classifications it is viewed as a separate category, I wish the admissions office viewed it as such. That way I wouldn't have to be waiting on an additional non-science letter. Thanks for the input @jesie and @LizzyM
