Is Ensure® allowed for pts preparing for colonoscopy?

A diabetic patients asked me if he could drink Ensure® on his prep day, but I was not sure if he could. Just now, I read that it is okay for patients to drink Ensure® before his colonoscopy exam, since the drinks are water-based and low in finer. What is your take on this?

It is, kind of. I mean, a whole cup isn't , but if you spill a cup of coffee you can easily see under it. It won't obscure the bowel wall. Not so with milk.

Ensure has a clear version out. It's fine for them to drink that one before a colonoscopy
