Is it all about timing???

I am appyling this year and wondering about timing. I know this is a STUPID question but if I wanted an interview in late October when should I submit my AMCAS and secondaries. Alot of the schools I am applying to have secondaries online so when should I submit those. I am thinking later August to get an interview in late October. Also some schools only give out their secondaries after AMCAS. Can I sit on these secondaries for a month or more if i desire( I know for Duke is only two weeks. To make a long story short will I have better control of my sitruation if I submit AMCAS in a few days and wait on my secondaries to delay interviews. Thanks

I think that the system is designed so that you, the applicant, have as little control as possible. Good luck.
