Is it even worthwhile to apply to Brown Med School since they take almost 1/2...

...almost 1/2 of their students seem to be from their undergrad program...

"Fifty-two students applied through the AMCAS route of admission, which is the largest cohort in the class. Thirty-nine studentswere enrolled as undergraduates in the Program in Liberal Medical Education," (http://brown.edu/academics/medical/admission/class-profile).

I know a girl who interviewed there last year (not sure if she ever got in)...she was OOS, 3.9 GPA and 34 MCAT ... so I'm sure it can happen even with "average" SDN stats...

I like this thread. I am thinking the same thing. I don't know.

agreed! i was just checking their admission's website the other day.

this is a little out dated info:

http://www.eduers.com/Medical/Rhode_Island/Brown_Medical_School.html

Total admissions data 6016 applied, 229 interviewed, 208 were accepted, 95 enrolled
In-state admissions data 89 applied, 17 interviewed, 11 were accepted, 7 enrolled
Out-state admissions data 5927 applied, 212 interviewed, 197 were accepted, 88 enrolled

but i can't really find much more information on preference for undergrad...

This might change a bit this year as they start expanding their class size.
