is it just me or does anyone else think horopter sounds like a naughty word?

Heh, I never really thought about that, I don't think.

Of course there's Progressive Outer Retinal Necrosis Syndrome.

That one always seems to stick out when I'm flipping through Mass Eye.

Though I guess it's not so much a funny word as it is a funny acronym. 😛

Sorry to crimp your fun, but I think its called a phoropter with an "f" sound at the beginning.

wow, I haven't thought about the horopter since Part 1  I can't say I'm sad it's gone 😉

too funny! yes i know the differnce between a phoropter and a horopter. we just started learning about horopters in class yesterday, so fun!

Ahh, got ya. Sorry I was a little slow on that one.

Unfortunately the only thing funny about a horopter is its name. Have fun with the Ogle curves.

Another good term would be the Schiotz tonometer, which has given rise to such phrases as:

I'm the schiotz

Drop it like it's schiotz

Fuch this schiotz

Ok, I'll drop my age and add in.

How about good old MUCIN BALLS!

I got a real kick the first time I heard that optometrists "fogg" their patients. "Fogging" a stranger seemed inappropriate to me🙂

What about Fuchs' crypts, or the valleys of Kuhnt? Those sound a little more dirty than a horopter 🙂
