I know I have a few threads here...but as far as applying. I know that I lack physics and organic chem II... But my last two years of college were PA school. Can I apply now and finish the pre reqs over the summer and take the MCAT in April...or do I have to wait a year. How does all of that work? I read that the premed students apply before they are done...what about those of us with the BS and MS already but lacking a few pre reqs? Thanks for the help.

not understanding what you're asking. so are you applying to med school and you went to PA school before????

Yes. I am a PA . My PA school education was junior and senior year of college. I know it's too late to apply for med school for 2006 but it took me a litlte while to figure that out and what the application schedule was like. I dont' have all the prereqs since PA school occupied two years of college they crammed in our prereqs in the first two years. therefore, what i have figured out is that in order to go to med school I would have to go back and take a lot of science courses first. Such as physics, and organic II. I also took anatomy and physiology but no general bio I and II. So...i'm a little behind in the prereq dept as far as med school is concerned.

you might want to ask this question in the pre-med forum (if you haven't already), but my guess is that if you're really focused on finishing all those science pre-reqs in a year and study for the mcats at the same time, then go for it. it looks like you need physics, ochem 2, and bio? i'm science-minded but i'd go crazy if i were to do that in a year. when i was in college i took physics over the summer and that was crazy just by itself in 3 months. i believe the mcats are also offered in august as well.
