Is it okay to do an internship before med school

I'm a bio major and just want to have a plan b incase anything goes wrong. I want to do an internship at a local lab, plus, it'll raise my GPA. I was just wondering how medical school adcoms look at that. Could it help me? Hurt me?

The answer to your question is do the internship, especially if it will raise your GPA and you'll get research experience? There seems to be no negative here, unless finding housing or something would be difficult.

It would do nothing but help your application if you had to reapply. Always have a plan B.
