Is it okay to email a school to confirm they got application?

Probably a stupid question but there are a couple schools I have applied to that never sent a confirmation email to me saying they received my application. Would it be okay to send the program an email to confirm? More for my peace of mind rather than a lack of confidence in the PTCAS.

As above yes, fine. I did this a few times but I still did not get a confirmation from someone. I just received next steps at a later date.
