Hello
I was just wondering if it was possible to play a club sport (ice hockey)during the 1st year of pharmacy school. I practice 2 times a week and have games on the weekends. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

A classmate of my fiancee's played DII Football through his third year. Had to stop for rotations, though. 🙂

Midwestern has a huge intramural sports club. Some of our professors even have the time to participate and play along.

If you are well organized its possible, but ur grades will suffer somewhat. If you wanna be a straight A student proably not, but just passing or even decent B's and some A's. Very doable.

Well seeing as how I'm not a big fan of participating in sports, I would think that even just a couple people playing is huge! But the truth is a lot of my friends actually do play. I think there were like 20+ students from my class alone that played regularly. Then you have to add up the other pharmacy years and the other MWU colleges and I bet it's a lot of people. 😛

Oh yeah my classmates' team name is "The Suppositories".....GO SUPPOSITORIES!

Oh yeah, your class likes to participate in that sort of stuff. Maybe on a good day, my class would have like 10 participants. I guess we're the lazy class! Hooray for laziness in sports!

intramurals are good as the others said

we've got quite a few girls from our class that play intramural volleyball, and soccer. and we do have a class soccer team i do believe.. and we beat all the other schools of health care last year !! whoot whoot!!

i dont know about intercollegiate though.. b/c it takes so much time... plus.. they fit more to undergrad schedules then to grad schedule

i was 5 credits away from a minor in dance (yes dance) when i got accepted to pharm school, and i couldnt minor in dance so i lost that. plus i cant take any classes b/c they're all formatted for undergrad scheduling and of course are right during all our classes...

but i tell you... after this first year.. i'm missing exercise.. after spending so many hours just studying or working.. and drinking coffee and eating hot pockets... 😉 i really really miss dancing b/c it kept me in shape.. and gave me energy....

so if you could do something athletic i'd recommend it... even if its just working out regularly at the gym....
