after i complete my b.s. in biology i plan to take a couple years off to work as either a surgical tech or pharmacy tech to gain healthcare experience before i go to PA school. is it possible to work as a part time surg tech or a part time pharmacy tech while in PA school, or are those jobs full time only?

Yes, you can work part time. Almost anything in health care can be done part time.

While those jobs are easily found on a part time basis, most PA schools strongly discourage/prohibit one from working while attending PA school. The time required to study (successfully) is simply too great and many students choose to focus on school rather than the few meager bucks that can be earned during one's 'free' time. School is a full time job in-and-of itself.

During your time off from school.....you will be back in school for surg tech or pharm tech 15-24 months.......do you really want to do that?
