is it too late for me to take DAT at the end of August?

Taking it in August, should be okay.

My adivice to you would be to take your DAT and then fax your scores to the schools in which you applied to. Although its unofficial, you can get the admission committee moving in reviewing your file a lot sooner. Most schools will not touch your application unless you've given them all the documents, LORs, Transcripts, Application, Secondary fee, and finally DAT scores. Make sure everything but your DAT is in and complete.

If your lucky, and your GPA is really good and you have solid LORs then you could possibly get an interview before they see your DAT. Its a rariety, but it has happened before.

If you haven't already done so you need to get online and register to take the DAT, on the ADA website. It takes a couple weeks after you register online to recieve your conformation letter. Once you recieve that letter you can then call the testing centers and schedule to take your DAT. It's first come, first serve so you need to get on it if you haven't done so yet.
