Is it too late to apply for 2019-20 now, for TX schools? Main interest is for BCM, UTSW, UTMcGovern. Rice Senior, 3.78 & 519, research, teaching/other campus extracurriculars. Not sure if the statistics are competitive enough and if it is already too late.
Is there any point in applying just for 3 TX schools? And re-apply next year if not selected to above three? From what some have said, if you apply to many and are selected to even 1 school, you cannot turn it down ? E.g- if UTSA etc. takes you (hypothetical and not putting down) and you decide not to go, next cycle you will not be invited for interview to these schools. And also not sure if denial overall reduces your chances in all TX schools 20120-21.

@wysdoc for Texas expertise.

I would say that most of the timely applicants not only are complete with their TMDSAS but have submitted most of their secondaries. All but 2 TX schools are already inviting for interviews. UTSW especially likes prompt applicants.
You will make a much better candidate if you take the year to do some off-campus volunteer and shadowing work and submit next year in June.
Your numbers are competitive for any TX school but your timing will sink you.

Thanks, appreciate it. Looks too late now. Will have to think of good gap year options now.
