I applied to 20 MD and 12 DO programs. I am worried I won't get into any medical school since my MCAT score is low (506, and it took me 3 tries to get it).

I have 3 more secondaries to finish, then I will be done. So I was wondering if it is still not too late to apply to MORE, since I heard schools have already started giving out interviews.

So far, I got an interview from LECOM, which I think I did badly on because I couldn't answer some of the questions they asked me.

This is my school list:

It's becoming clear you are rushing into "medical school or bust" territory, land of desperate premeds who will spend anything just to get into any school.

It's your money and your susceptibility to the "sunk cost fallacy." It's not too late for DO, but be aware you can get an interview if you lower your standards and expectations enough. Just don't go so low as non-US/foreign programs without doing a lot of homework.

Finish the secondaries you have. Prepare better for your interviews. Read our articles.

At least 6 donations on the MD list, OP. They don't need the money.

It's fine to add more DO schools, but in the meantime, work on interview skills

You talking about lower standard on MD?

Okay, thanks. I'm kind of sad about that interview, ngl. I was focusing on the secondaries, and then I got an interview. After that, I spent a week studying for it because they said it was due in a week

I don't have any advice just wanted to mention how funny it is that my list is almost identical lol. I'm in the same boat but probably a little worse off with a 503 and was considering the same thing

You got a MD recommendation? Lol. I don’t know any good more MD that worth to apply.

I would agree for MD specifically, unless you have some other really strong hook factor in your resume and a high GPA to boot. DO is still doable and you should look into that

So secondaries for MD is fine by Labor Day still holds? I am not verified, but think I will be in one week. Trying to submit them August 15th - 18th.

(513 MCAT fwiw)

The Labor Day rule is that your application should be verified and everything including LORs and secondary submitted by first Monday in September at the latest. In particular, I'm thinking of the students who attend schools where the committee letter is completed at the end of August which sends some applicants into a panic. Chill.

if you're URM, maybe the HBCU's but otherwise I feel like your list already covers it, idk. I'm equally as lost lol
