Is it worth sending a letter to schools at which you've been under review mentioning new things you've learned about the program? More or less a, hey I'm still interested and think you're great for this reason?

i don't think that will help your chances imo

unless you have something IMPORTANT (read "not something you read on their website") to update them with, I would avoid it.

I would use the letter to mainly update them on any new accomplishments or plans for the application year - remind them why you're a competitive, stand-out applicant that should be interviewed using current examples.
