is kaplan for step 1 a good idea?

hey guys so i was wondering if anyone who took kaplan could tell me about it...or if anyone who is planning to take it could elaborate on it....i was specifically wondering how you incorporated using First Aid and other supplemental books in your studying. Would it be a better idea to use Doctors in Training which will hammer home the First Aid and then use like the BRS review series to supplement? With kaplan are outside materials necessary? ANY information would be so appreciated. it seems everyone at my school says something different. thanks.
