Medical Is major surgery worthy of an update letter?

I just had major open heart surgery. I am mostly ok, and reaching the end of my 8 wk recovery.

I've applied to 7 DO schools in Sept, to which I have heard nothing back, or I am on pre-II hold. Should I include this an update letter? I do not wish to withdraw my application.

Very sorry to hear this, and I wish you a speedy recovery. This is not worthy of an update unless your recovery forces you to withdraw from the process.

Trying to get credit for being a patient is like trying to get credit for breathing.

IF you encountered a DO in any part of the process, that will be worth sharing at interviews.
