Hello,

I have an academic integrity IA from freshman year for copying answers I found online for a general chemistry lab report, for which I received a zero on the assignment. I had previously made a post about this on SDN and received feedback from Goro and Gonnif saying that this won't be as lethal, considering it occurred around 4 years ago and I showed significant improvement in my academics and character since then. A little bit about my app is that I have a 3.6 sGPA with a strong upward trend (2.85, 3.7, 3.93, 3.9), 515 MCAT, 250 hours of hospital volunteering, 300 hours at a community clinic and center for underserved families, and consistent research experience with an upcoming publication.

I am starting to question whether my IA is hurting me way more than I had anticipated. I want to believe that my app reflects my growth since then, but I'm not entirely sure anymore with the silence I have had so far. I would greatly appreciate any expert insight into my situation and honest feedback on if I have a chance at a successful cycle.

Thank you!

Edit: I forgot to mention that I have received 2 holds (GWU and Upstate) and 2 Rs so far.
Impossible to answer. Your essays might be weak, or you might have a bad LOR. It's still early in the cycle

It would be wrong to think your IA won't have an impact but I also think that the impact may not be as bad as you think. Every school handles IA differently in terms of reviewing the severity of the issue. Some will do it before interview, some afterwards. Remember everything you submit is under review, not just the IA.
