is NDBE or DDS required for oral surgeons planning to go for research or academic jobs

hi iam dr syed an oral & maxillofacial surgeon from india with 6 years experience, with NIH extramural research certificate and MFDS part B from Glasgow. I am interested in research jobs or in teaching jobs in oral & maxillofacial surgery in US how do I go about it? is DDS or DNB required for same? or for research fellowship many universities ask for NDBE or match or they charge very high are there any programmes who give us stipend for working as asst researcher and helping in teaching.
